2027 Campaigns Can’t Stop NASS From Performing Legislative Duty – Akpabio
President of the 10th Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has assured Nigerians that the 2027 political campaign will not stop members of the National Assembly from carrying out their legislative duties.
This is contained in a press statement issued by his Special Assistant on Media, Jackson Udom and made available to Saturday Telegraph in Abuja.
According to Akpabio, the electioneering and legislative duties are not the same and there was no way one could affect or disturb the other.

The statement reads, “We are elected for four years, and we are going to work for four years. Anybody that is walking on the tightrope must be able to do the balancing act.
“We are politicians, and campaigns will start very soon. Campaigns can be fixed in the afternoons or evenings while we do our work in the mornings.”
“It is not a problem at all. It is not everybody who will go for a campaign at the same time because we belong to different political parties. Nothing will affect legislation.
“We will continue to make laws to take care of the needs of the people. It has never affected the work of the parliament,” he added.
