The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Ebonyi State Chapter has denied claims in some quarters alleging that the party was involved in illegal procurement of Permanent Voters Card (PVCs) ahead of the 2027 general election.

The Publicity Secretary of the party,  Prince Darlington Peter Onwe, made the rebuttal in a press briefing in Abakaliki, the State capital.

According to him, the narrative was being fabricated to malign and tarnish the image of the party.

“We therefore reject in its entirety any attempt to associate our members with unlawful dealings in PVCs,” he said.

Onwe emphasised that the party remains a law-abiding political organisation that has never contemplated, authorised, or condoned any conduct capable of violating the Electoral Act 2026, and the guidelines of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
